Synopsis
Blending archival footage, live performances and interviews with rock experts, this two-part documentary traces Metallica's rise from humble beginnings to one of the most respected heavy metal acts in history. The first installment follows the band from its formation in Los Angeles in the early 1980s through its first three albums. The second installment includes a collection of live performances captured at the peak of the group's popularity.
