In 2010, the fictional town of Newport, Japan, suffers under the death grip of bacterial air pollution, forcing the use of gas masks. With gangs ruling the city, too, it's time for the Dominion Tank Police to step in. The superefficient squad sets out to take back control of the city -- with the help of some awesome tanks -- in this manga series written and drawn by master animator Masamune Shirow, the whiz behind "Ghost in the Shell."
