Community college geology professors Dr. Ira Kane (David Duchovny) and Harry Block (Orlando Jones) make an unfathomable discovery: microscopic alien life-forms on a meteorite. The military, a government scientist (Julianne Moore) and others become involved as the microbes swell in size and number. But it's up to the professors to teach these monstrosities a lesson in director Ivan Reitman's goofy comedy.
