Synopsis
On April 18, 1906, San Francisco experienced an earthquake that still stands as the greatest natural disaster in California history. While the rumbles of the quake caused widespread destruction, most of the devastation came from the resulting fires. This National Geographic documentary reveals tragic mistakes made by the city's mayor and the U.S. military in the aftermath of the quake, as well as heroic acts performed by ordinary citizens.
