Four Slovak and Russian explorers endure a 118-day trek to the North Pole, starting from the Russian archipelago of Severnaya Zemlya and ending in Canada -- a route that remained unconquered until this journey. Without the aid of aircraft, these intrepid explorers face polar bears, fierce glacial drift and extreme climate shifts. And once they reach the North Pole on May 8, 1998, the conditions only get worse.
