After his family discovers that he's gay, Buddy Fields (Michael Waite) leaves behind his provincial parents and the restrictive atmosphere of rural upstate New York and heads for the freedom of Manhattan's West Village. In the big city, Buddy ventures into his first sexual encounter and starts new relationships with two young men. But the inexperienced country boy has a lot to learn in his new environment, from subways and safety to sex and love.
