Desperate father Jake (George C. Scott) investigates the seedy world of pornographic movies as he tries to locate his runaway daughter in this drama. After discovering that she is starring in X-rated films, Van Dorn leaves his serene Michigan neighborhood and heads to Los Angeles to track her down. He hires a sleazy investigator (Peter Boyle), and the two immerse themselves in the industry on the hunt for Jake's daughter.
