Jean Harris aka Countess Louise (Mitzi Gaynor) is a card shark traveling on an ocean voyage with her father, Col. Patrick Henry Harris (David Niven). She does well for herself -- that is, until she falls for the man she just fleeced, the very rich Hotsy Hamilton (George Gobel). When Hamilton finds out the truth about Jean/Louise, will love prevail? Norman Taurog directs this screwball comedy centered on a romantic game of one-upmanship.
