All Ted Daniels (Cameron Mitchell) wants to do is roam the countryside with his horse, Bess (played by the legendary steed Gallant Bess), in search of the next great adventure. But when he's injured after thieves rob him of his horse and the prize money he won at a rodeo hosted by the unscrupulous Bud (James Millican), Ted is nursed back to love and health by Penny (Audrey Long), who encourages him to nab the criminals and reclaim Bess.
