In this pair of adventure flicks from the 1930s, actor John Howard and future Oscar winner Ray Milland split the role of Captain Hugh "Bulldog" Drummond, a forerunner of the suave James Bond character. While trying to rescue a kidnapped heiress (Heather Angel) who would become his fiancée, Bulldog gets himself into some hot water fighting criminals and spies -- but he's aided by his trusty manservant (E.E. Clive) and best pal (Reginald Denny).
