Two pre-Code classics -- films shot prior to the formation of the Production Code Administration, which controlled the amount of sex seen or referred to on screen -- make up this collection: In Birds of Paradise, Johnny (Joel McCrea) falls for Luana (Dolores del Rio), the beautiful daughter of a Polynesian chieftain. In The Lady Refuses, Sir Gerald Courtney (Gilbert Emery) hires June (Betty Compson) to seduce his son away from a gold digger.
